This page will show you screenprints in order to walk you through setting up your email using Netscape Communicator 4.0x. The actual screenprints are from version 4.06, but the process is almost identical in all 4.0x versions.
Opening "Preferences" in the Edit menu
Click on the "Edit" menu in the upper lefthand corner of your browser and select "Preferences", as shown in the image below:

Setting the "Mail & Groups" options
Expand the "Mail & Groups" category by clicking on the plus sign to the left of the words "Mail & Groups".

Click on "Identity" under "Mail & Groups". On the right side, in the blank titled "Your name:" enter the name that you would like to appear as your name on your outgoing email . In the next blank titled "Email address:" enter your actual email address (your username plus @terranova.net), as shown in the image below.

Click on "Mail Server" under "Mail & Groups". On the right side, in the blank titled "Mail server user name:" enter your username. In the blank titled "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:" enter mail.terranova.net. In the blank titled "Incoming mail server:" enter mail.terranova.net, as shown in the image below.
"Mail Server Type" should be set to POP3, also shown in the image below.

Click on "Groups Server" under "Mail & Groups". On the right side, in the blank titled "Discussion groups (news) server:" enter news.terranova.net. The "port" should be 119, as shown in the image below.

You should now have your email client setup correctly. Click on the "OK" button to close the "Preferences" window.
