Dial-Up Networking Instructions
This page will show you screenprints in order to walk you through
setting up a new Dial-Up Networking connection in Windows 95/98. The
actual screenprints are from Windows 98, but the process is almost
identical in Windows 95.
- Opening "My Computer"
Double Click on the "My Computer" icon in the upper lefthand
corner of your screen, as shown in the diagram below:

- Opening "Dial-Up Networking"
Double Click on the "Dial-Up Networking" icon inside the My
Computer window, as shown below. The View mode inside your window
may be different from the one shown below, but you should still see
the icon listed.

- Make New Connection
The first visible icon inside the Dial-Up Networking window you just
opened should say "Make New Connection". Double click on this icon
to begin the Dial-Up Networking Connection Wizard, as shown below.

Dial-Up Networking Connection Wizard
- Page 1
On Page 1 you must name the connection you are creating. We ask you to
use the name "TerraNovaNet" instead of "My Connection". You also must
verify that your modem is correctly listed in the Modem box, as shown
below. Once these two steps are done, click on the "Next" button at the
bottom.

- Page 2
On Page 2 you specify the number to dial into for your connection. That
will be one of two numbers. For either one, you should specify the area
code as 305. If you are a 33.6 Kb dial-up customer, use 451-3818. If you
are a Plus Account user, contact us for the number. Once you have entered
the appropriate phone number, click on the "Next" button.

- Page 3
On Page 3 you are told that you have successfully created a new Dial-Up
Networking connection. Click on the "Next" button.

Place Shortcut on Desktop
Use your right mouse button to drag the new icon in the Dial-Up
Networking window to your desktop. You may need to "un-maximize" the Dial-Up
Networking window in order to see your desktop. Once you have dragged the icon
to the desktop, a context menu will appear, asking you what action you would
like to perform. Choose "Create Shortcut Here", as shown below.

You should now have your Dial-Up Networking connection setup and working
properly. You will use this connection for your other Internet programs (browser,
email client, ftp client, etc..)
